My recent tastes in house music have certainly influenced this remix.

Nothing added, just chopped :)
this is really cool. I really appreciate how you pulled it apart. the space does wonders for the song. did you do any more work on it? could we post it on our band site and credit Mantris?
— animalfriend // January 30, 2012
Thanks. Sure you can post it on your band site and credit me… but again… mantris is with a small m. Share the link once you do :)

This is the unlikely story of a bouncy, moseying melody’s journey into a smoldering machine-noise darkscape. It is awesome.

Very belatedly: the disjointed room-noise vocals are a perfect fit for the ambling synth lope. I’m going to call this remix method “re-toasting”. Big up!

A slow boat indeed… old half-jam from July 4th.
We threw the Pirate’s melodica theme into the bass, twisted it around a bit, then girded it down with the melodica again, this time doing chord stabs. J on drums/bass/falsetto, A on melodica.
bring me the parts, kids. this is going in my disaster dubplate systems.
